The current governor of Anambra state, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has survived assassination attempts on Friday, The Independent has reported.

What happened: It was gathered by MandyNews that unknown gunmen attacked Isuofia, Soludo’s hometown, in the hope of assassinating the governor, who they believed had left Government House, Awka, for the town’s Easter celebrations.
The attackers, who arrived in town fully equipped, were defeated by the police after a gun war that lasted for hours into the night, according to a report seen by Mandy News on Independent Nigeria.
This reportedly prompted a panic in the town, with citizens fleeing for their lives.
According to reports, one unidentified police officer was killed in the incident, while numerous more were injured.
