Davido features in the Qatar 2022 World Cup official song as the only musician from Nigeria.
Davido is the definition of grace. If you forgot, he even has an EP called “Son of Mercy.” He was among the A-list artists who were neglected during Beyonce’s Afrobeat mission in Africa, but now it seems that there is just no stopping Davido’s mission to remain the biggest African musician.
The Nigerian afrobeat heavyweight was announced as one of the musicians featured on the official soundtrack for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Three international musicians have performed to the single “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” as part of the line-up.
The song was released by Trinidad Cardona, under exclusive license to Def Jam Recordings, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc. and features 3 artists, including American singer Trinidad Cardona, African-American singer Aisha, and Nigerian singer Davido.
Taking to Twitter, Davido wrote: “I’m honored to be featured on the Official FIFAWorldCup 2022 Soundtrack! See y’all later, 2NITE! This one is for Africa! TULE!!!! We Rise!“
The song was released globally on Apple Music on April 1, 2022.
Late last month, the king of afropop and “champion sound” hitmaker was paid huge amounts of money to perform at the Dubai Expo 2020.
The award-winning singer recently signed a mind-blowing endorsement deal with Playstation.
He also signed a Puma global brand ambassador deal in 2021 and another millions endorsement from Martell.
