Some irate Muslim youths have vandalized properties in Sokoto, amid protests against people accusing them of adopting self-help and jungle justice in the killing of a female student for alleged blasphemy.

Protests began in Sokoto’s capital and extended to other parts of the state, according to reports.

Sokoto’s Governor declares a curfew as violent mobs move to destroy more properties in the state. 

Deborah Yakubu, a 200-level female student at Shehu Shagari College of Education, was attacked and killed on Thursday before her body was set ablaze on campus.

As a result, two people were apprehended by the Sokoto State Division Police.

As a result, on Saturday morning, a large number of Muslim youths in Sokoto State took to the streets to protest their comrades’ release.

They marched across Gao-nama onwards flyover within the state metropolis, starting at the Zabira mall roundabout.

In the video sighted by MandyNews, the protesters can be seen with placards with different inscriptions while they are shouting “Allahu Akbar,” translated into English as “God is great.”

The Demonstrators vandalized Christian-owned businesses.
