
The Department of State Security (DSS) has released the lawmaker representing Owan West constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Ojo Asein, after spending right days in custody.
A family source told MandyNews.com that “the Honourable is back home now and resting.”
Mandy News gathered that the lawmaker was whisked away since last week Monday and his lawyer and family members was not allowed access to him and are not aware of his offence and under which conditions he is being kept.
The reason for the arrest was not known but some of his supporters claimed it could be political as they claim he wield political influence in his constituency that could sway votes on Saturday house of assembly election.
Asein was accused of the kidnapping of Ohio Ezomon due to had defeated Asein in a blood-soaked primary election contested by the duo.
