On Monday evening, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released Paschal Okechukwu a.k.a. Cubana Chief Priest from detention.
According to MANDY NEWS previous report, Okechukwu was apprehended by EFCC operatives in Abuja last week. He has been detained and interrogated since then on accusations of money laundering and tax fraud.
How did Cubana Chief Priest Got Arrested?
Prior to his arrest, it was discovered that the anti-graft agency had issued him repeated invitations, which he disregarded.
He was apprehended in Abuja while attempting to board a flight back to Owerri after witnessing the 2022 World Cup playoff second leg game between Nigeria and Ghana at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium, better known as the Abuja National Stadium.
His release was confirmed by the founder of David Music World, David Adekele, who announced the news on his Instagram story page, writing, “My bestie is free!!!”
Reacting to his release, Cubana Chief Priest took to Instagram and said, “I Will Never Forget. What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger. Make Una Resend All My Birthday Wishes.”
