Nigeria hit with €154,000 FIFA fine after pitch invasion at the of Nigeria vs Ghana match.

The accident happened after Africa’s giant failed to qualify for the World Cup finals after a 1-1 home playoff draw with Ghana in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29 2022.

FIFA penalized Nigeria €154,000 after fans invaded the pitch during the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Fans in the stadium reacted angrily to the result, which saw Nigeria miss out on a ticket to Qatar due to the away goals rule, by throwing objects at both the Ghana players and the small group of visiting fans.
