Funminiyi Afuye, the speaker of ekiti state house of assembly, died Wednesday, the office of the state governor confirmed. He was 66 years old.
According to the information obtained by MandyNews.com, Funminiyi Afuye, who was the speaker of the 6th Ekiti State House of Assembly, died following a cardiac arrest.
In a statement, Yinka Oyebode, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, revealed that Afuye died “at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, where he was receiving treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest.”
- “The late Afuye, 66, was a former Commissioner of the Ekiti State Ministry of Information, and a two-time member of the State Assembly.
- He was inaugurated Speaker of the sixth Assembly on June 6, 2019,” the Chief Press Secretary said.
Until his death, Afuye was a former commissioner of information in Ekiti state and a two-time house of assembly member.
