Will Smith and Chris Rock were very close friends until something came between them, which broke up their friendship.
During the 2022 Oscars Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett.
The entire world was outraged at Will Smith, while Chris Rock was praised for not retaliating and instead standing and smiling in the face of it.
As a result, Will Smith was barred from attending the Oscars gala and other Academy activities for the next ten years.
Jada Pinkett wasn’t banned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Pinkett Smith addressed the camera directly during her episode of “Red Table Talk,” saying she wants Will Smith and Chris Rock to come together and talk about what happened on Oscar Award night.
“About Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile,” Jada said.
The 50-year old mother of two continues her statement by saying, “With the state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.”
