On Thursday, August 18, a Canadian-based Kenyan woman was live-streaming on Facebook when she drowned in a swimming pool. The footage has since gone viral.
Prior to the catastrophe, Hellen Wendy, who lists her occupation as a nurse in Toronto, Ontario on Facebook, was having a good time connecting with her fans.
Wendy began to swim as her phone was recording. She continued to dive into the pool and held her head underwater for a few seconds before swimming back to view the reactions on the live video.
Before an anonymous person arrived and realized she had died away, the video continued to record for three hours.
Immediately on social media, the news and the video went viral.
There are already 148,000 views, over 6,800 comments, and more sharing and commenting on the video that is still available on Tiktok.
