Majek Fashek Dead: Singer of ‘Send Down The Rain’ Dies At 71

Nigerian born reggae singer, songwriter and guitarist who was behind a string of hits in the ’80s, including “Send Down the Rain” and “Little Patience” has died at the age of 71 on Tuesday, 2 June 2020.

His death was confirmed by his manager Omenka Uzoma, via late Fashek’s official Instagram handle.

“Today been having pressure calls, well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker, Let celebrate him, his achievements and his family, whatever decisions made by his immediate family will be notified, Omenka Uzoma said.

He’s the first Nigerian artist to be signed by Sony he has worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé.
