Many Dead And Dozens Injured After Gas Explosion In Sabon Gari Kano

An undisclosed number of people were killed and seriously injured on Tuesday after a gas explosion on Aba Road in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge Local Government in Kano.

The early morning blast along Court Road in Sabon Gari, Kano State, sent many people to the cemetery and others to the hospital.

The blast was initially thought to be caused by a suicide bomber.

According to a statement from the state commissioner of police, the explosion was caused by gas cylinder.

The explosion occurred near Winners School, a private secondary school, and destroyed a residential structure as well as a portion of the school.

MandyNews.com obtained video of the tragedy, which showed several injured youngsters pleading for aid and multiple dead bodies on the ground.

Rescuers were spotted rushing to the scene to save the kids.

While some injured students were evacuated, others remained at the site until emergency personnel arrived.

According to information received by Mandy News, security forces including the army, police, and the NSCDC have encircled the site.

At the time of this report, the exact cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage had not been determined.
