LAGOS – Convener of the Owan Project Movement, Elabor Joe Agbebaku, has called on Nigerians to continue to believe and work towards the better future of the country, in spite of the past mistakes from the leaders.
Mr Joe made the call in his message issued on Friday in Lagos to Nigerians on the cause of the nation’s 61st Independence anniversary.
He said that the country is our only home, adding that God has a reason for sending us here.
“We love Nigeria, not because everything is working for us; not even because we have everything that we desire or deserve, but because it is the only place we can call our own and be identified with.
“God has a reason for sending us into this generation, and particularly to this part of the world,” Elabor said.
According to him, our past political mistakes should not define our future. Joe said that we are going to get things right.
“We have made mistakes in the past especially in our political decisions and actions, we may continue to make mistakes until perhaps we get it right.
“Our goal is to ensure we make our impact here on earth, while we have the time and opportunity,” he said.
The Member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urged the citizens to continue to strive for a better Nigeria.
“We would continue to strive for a better Nigeria as long as God gives us the opportunity to live and to do so.
“It won’t come easy, but it would definitely come, if we continue to believe and work towards it,” he added.
