A Nigerian-born economist and international development expert, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has applauded and declared support for Nigerian youth protesting against police brutality and excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The former Minister of Finance for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a top finalist for the position of director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Sunday Morning applauded the Nigerian youth demanding an end to the police unit with peaceful protest.
“I applaud the resourcefulness and courage of Nigerian youth in the #EndSARS. Powerful to let your voices be heard peacefully. Let’s join hands for a positive outcome through a One Nigeria approach,” the 66-year-old wrote on Twitter.
