Lagos, Nigeria (MandyNews) — Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, the Nigerian rapper better known as Oladips, has died at the age of 28, his management announced Wednesday.

The artist, celebrated for his unique blend of street rap and Afrobeat, passed away on Tuesday evening, according to a statement released on his official Instagram account. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

“Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka Oladips passed away yesterday Nov’ 14 Tuesday evening at exactly 10:14 pm. We are still in shock as we speak,” the statement read. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time and indicated that funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Oladips, who hailed from Ogun State, Nigeria, had been a rising star in the Nigerian music scene, known for his poignant lyrics and vibrant personality. His music often reflected his personal experiences and struggles, resonating deeply with a young audience.
