Peter Obi renounces the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and withdraws from the presidential race.
Mr Obi announced his resignation in a letter to the party’s National Chairman dated May 20, 2022.
Information gathered by MandyNews.com is that the former governor’s resignation from the party was the result of multiple gangs up in the caucus conspiring against him.
The 60-year-old businessman told PDP Agulu Ward II chairman of his official resignation from Nigeria’s main opposition party, according to a letter seen by Mandy News.
Peter Obi, a former PDP presidential hopeful in Nigeria’s general election in 2023, has yet to inform his supporters of his new party.
Several sources have said that Obi, the 2019 vice presidential candidate, may join Kwakwaso’s new party.
