The Coalition for Good Governance, which is made up of former political party chairmen and presidential candidates, has announced its endorsement of HE Peter Obi for the position of President in Nigeria.
The chairman of the coalition issued a statement emphasizing that the evaluation of all presidential candidates was carried out strictly without any ethnic or religious bias.
The coalition reaffirmed its support for Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and Baba Ahmed, whom it considers the most credible and qualified candidates among the contestants vying for the position of President in the upcoming elections on February 25th, 2023.
The coalition urged Nigerians to reject any attempts to discredit the candidates, and described Mr. Peter Obi as a nationalist who is decent, humble, credible, capable, and compassionate in character.
They highlighted Mr. Peter Obi’s track record as the former governor of Anambra state, noting that he rejected billions of naira and houses of compensation from the state government, and left over 75 billion naira in the state coffers at the end of his tenure, a record that has been unmatched by any governor in Nigeria.
The Coalition for Good Governance’s endorsement of Peter Obi is a significant development ahead of the February 25th presidential elections in Nigeria.
