Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has dropped the biggest hint yet that he plans to bid for the presidency in 2023 if only the People Democratic Party (PDP) zone the ticket to the southern part of Nigeria.
In a post on Monday of Obi’s official account at microblogging giant, Twitter, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general elections said: “Yes, I will step into the field to contest for the opportunity to serve this great country as President if my party, the PDP, zones the ticket to the south.”
The 60-year-old Peter says in response to the news that he was dumped by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential aspirant for Nigeria 2023 general election.
The successful businessman added, “But if it is thrown open, Nigerians will also hear from me.”
Peter Gregory Obi, has not publicly announced his 2023 presidential movement, though many of his followers have been seen on multiple occasions flooding social media with posters that he must run in 2023.
However, the former candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party in 2003 did say in January that he needs some time to think about his 2023 presidential ambition.
Other PDP members have also hinted that they will run for president in 2023, including Saraki, Atiku.
Do you think Peter Obi can defeat Tinubu or Osinbajo?
