Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra state in Nigeria, received a standing ovation after delivering a powerful speech to Nigerians at Chatham House in London on Monday.
The event, which was chaired by Dr. Alex Vines, brought the presidential candidate for the Labour Party to discuss his vision for policy and governance reforms in Nigeria.
In his speech, Obi highlighted the need for Nigeria to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil. He argued that the country’s oil sector has been a major source of corruption and that the country needs to focus on developing other sectors, such as agriculture and manufacturing, to create hisustainable growth.
