On Wednesday, May 25, Peter Obi left the People Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s biggest opposition party.

Mr Obi, who is known on social media as Ekwuete, which means “the rock,” announced his resignation in a letter written to the PDP’s National Chairman.
