According to Wednesday’s reports from American media, another batch of confidential documents from Joe Biden’s time as vice president were uncovered by his legal team.

On Thursday, January 12th, a White House lawyer disclosed that the confidential papers from the Obama Administration were found in a garage at the former Vice President’s residence in Delaware. The information came to light two days after the White House acknowledged a similar discovery in a former office of the Democrat.

The White House announced on Monday that a small number of confidential documents were discovered by attorneys for President Biden last November. These documents were found in a private office that the President used periodically, from mid-2017 to early 2019, during his tenure as Vice President under Barack Obama (2009-2017) and during his 2020 presidential campaign.

According to American press reports, additional confidential records were found at another location associated with President Biden, in addition to the papers discovered at his residence. The location and timing of the discovery of these additional documents is currently unknown.

The revelation of the existence of these new documents was brought to light by NBC News and has since been confirmed by other news outlets. The White House has yet to issue a statement regarding this matter.

In November of last year, attorneys representing President Biden stumbled upon the initial set of classified papers while conducting a search of an office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Engagement, located in Washington D.C. The Center, which is linked to the University of Pennsylvania, where President Biden served as an honorary professor from 2017-2019.

President Biden’s special advisor, Richard Sauber, revealed that the confidential papers were discovered during the process of packing files locked in a closet at the President’s residence. The discovery was made by the President’s personal lawyers as they were preparing to vacate the office. The White House promptly notified the National Archives, who retrieved the papers the next morning.

The Department of Justice has announced an investigation into the discovery of confidential papers from the Obama Administration at President Biden’s residence. The FBI is also reported to be involved in the probe. The White House has not provided any information on when President Biden was made aware of the discovery or why it was not disclosed until more than two months later.

President Biden stated that he was unaware of the contents of the confidential documents found at his residence, and that his legal team handed the documents over to the National Archives without informing him of their contents. He emphasized his cooperation with the ongoing investigation and expressed surprise at the discovery of government records being present in his residence.”
