Putin Meets Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu — Read What He Told Him

The Federation of Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, on Sunday, held a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Defence, Sergei Shoigu, and the Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov.

The meeting was held inside inside the Kremlin.

The meeting’s agenda contained containment forces to be put on alert.

What Putin told Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov:

• “I order the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff to transfer the deterrence forces of the Russian army to a special mode of combat duty” 

Why Did Putin ordered the containment forces to be put on alert?

According to Putin, because Western countries are not only imposing sanctions, which he called illegitimate, but also “top officials of the leading NATO countries make aggressive statements.”
