Shakira and Gerard Piqué have confirmed their separation on Saturday, June 4th, after a 12-year commitment.
The news comes after a few days of rumours about the state of Shakira and Pique’s relationship following the Barcelona defender’s infidelity.
According to sources, the separation might have been precipitated by a third woman involved in the dispute.
In a brief statement released by Shakira’s communication agency, the singer and the player said they are separating.

The pair have reportedly been living separately for three months now – Shakira at her home, and Pique in his bachelor apartment, located on Muntaner street in Barcelona.
The reason for the separation, according to Lorena Vázquez and Laura Fa, was the player’s alleged adultery. They claimed that “Shakira has caught Piqué with another.”
According to Laura Fa of the “Mamarazzis” podcast, Shakira caught Pique with a 22-year-old blonde who works as an event hostess.
“The emergence of this young woman in Piqué’s life could have prompted the couple to live temporarily apart,” the journalists continue, “despite the fact that we do not know the nature of their relationship.”
