According to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mbawona Tindana was charged in the Bolgatanga High Court.
In 2019, the offender was apprehended for reportedly killing his 25-year-old wife, Talata Abigail Kurug, and 2-year-old daughter, Nyapoka Mbawona Tindana, and offering them to his gods.
According to the report, Tindana accused his wife and daughter of being demons. He used an axe to behead the wife before doing the same to the infant.
Under Section 46 of the Criminal Offences Act of 1960, Act 29, he was charged with two counts of murder.
The suspect was found guilty and sentenced to death after a unanimous decision by a jury Tindana himself chose, which found him guilty and sentenced him to death.
