A spokesperson for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed that her husband was brutally attacked by an attacker who stormed into their San Francisco home early on Friday.
Mandy News sighted and confirmed the document, which was posted on Twitter on Saturday.
According to a statement from his spokesman, Drew Hammill, Paul Pelosi, 82, was brought to the hospital and is anticipated to recover.
Nancy Pelosi was reportedly absent from her house at the time of the attack.
- “The assailant is in custody and the motive for the attack is under investigation,” the statement said.
Despite this, the name of the perpetrator has not yet been made public by the law enforcement officials.
The pair thanked emergency personnel in a statement sent by Pelosi’s office.
- “The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” the statement finalized.
