Omar al-Bashir, the ousted Sudanese president has been transferred to a Khartoum jail following his toppling by the military final week.
Based on the Agence France Presse, AFP, this was made recognized by a supply from his household on Wednesday.
“Final night time, Bashir was transferred to Kober jail in Khartoum,” the supply mentioned with out revealing his title for safety causes.
Bashir was ousted by the military final Thursday after 4 months of protests in opposition to his three a long time of iron-fisted rule. The nation’s new navy rulers had mentioned he was being held “in a safe place”.
Witnesses mentioned there was a heavy deployment of troopers and members of the paramilitary Fast Help Pressure outdoors the jail in north Khartoum.
“There are troops in autos mounted with machine-guns close to the jail,” a witness informed AFP.
