Trevor Noah has warned that the Kim Kardashian-Kanye West-Pete Davidson saga could devolve into violence.
Trevor Noah expressed concern about how the situation could worsen, recalling his own experiences growing up in an abusive household.
Noah’s stepfather shot his mother in the head after they told her she was “overreacting.”
“if Kim Kardashian cannot escape this, then what chance do normal women have,” Trevor Noah said.

- “For those who don’t know, Kim Kardashian was married to Kanye West. They divorced, and over time, Kanye has become more and more belligerent in his attempts to get Kim back.
- I mean, for those who don’t know, he’s like, “I wish this guy was dead.” Now Kanye says, “This is just art. I don’t actually want to hurt him.
- This is just art. Don’t judge my art. ” It was actually part of the message that was really beautiful, but I’m sorry guys, to start a message with “I’m in bed with your wife” and then go like “Let me help you with your mental health.” Yeah, now you’ve added to the mental health of the person that you’re trying to help.
- Do you get what I’m saying?It’s a little bit crazy. It’s a little bit like roasting somebody while you’re giving them CPR, and now this thing has been spun into a story that seems fully tabloid, but I think it deserves a little more awareness from the general public.
- It’s because it touches on something that is more sensitive and more serious than people would like to admit.
- I know everyone thinks it’s a big marketing stunt, but look at the coincidence: Kim is launching a new show, but only two things can be true. Kim likes publicity.
- Kim is also being harassed. Those things can be happening at the same time because, I’ll be honest with you, what I see from this situation I see a woman who wants to live her life without being harassed by an ex-boyfriend, ex-husband, or ex-anything.
- You may not feel sorry for Kim because she’s rich and famous because of the way she dresses, because she appropriates black culture, because she tells women they’re lazy because she broke the internet and then didn’t put it back together.
- The point is that when Kim Kardashian meets other women, they find themselves in a terrible situation, you know, because asking Kanye to stop isn’t helping, but at the same time, he hasn’t broken any laws, you know, so can she get him arrested? I don’t think so. I understand what he’s saying, “I don’t want my daughter to tick tock.”
- I get it. I agree with that part of what he’s saying.For years, one of the things I found most interesting was how often people told my mom she was overreacting; how many times people told my family to come to everyone, you know, and everyone had different reasons; and how once we went to the police station and they said to my mom, “But did you talk back?”.
- You know, you know, and you see a world where women are questioned about what is happening to them rather than the people questioning them.
- I’m just saying maybe that’s why I see the story differently. I’m not saying Kanye will please I’m not saying he will not say that, but you see it in all these stories where people say they saw it, but we didn’t.
- Whether it’s the people around him, whether it’s the people in their lives, whether it’s us as a society condoning or not condoning, I know it’s nuanced.
- I know it’s just happened, but I’d rather be in that situation than be in any other way. I say, “Man, I wish we hadn’t thought the whole thing wasn’t worth looking at.”
- All I’m saying about the story is this: if Kim Kardashian cannot escape this, then what chance do normal women have? “
