Iranian police released a CCTV footage of Mahsa Amini, young woman who passed away after being arrested.
The woman is shown in the video, which MandyNews.com was able to obtain, fainting on a chair as she was speaking to a female police officer inside the police station.
Iran Statement on Mahsa Amini’s Death
According to a statement from the police, Amini had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital, where she passed away on Friday.
According to police, there was no physical contact between them and Amini despite rumors to the contrary.
Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, was in Uzbekistan at the time. He gave his interior minister instructions to look into the situation in great detail and report back to the president.
Mohammad-Bagher Qalibaf, the speaker of Iran’s parliament, and Ali Salehi, Tehran’s attorney general, both promised separate investigations into the incident.
Mahsa Amini protests
Protesters in Iran rushed to the streets in response to Amini’s death. Demonstrators who were women set their hijabs on fire and criticized the government’s treatment of them as targets of persecution. At least 31 citizens were reportedly killed by an Iranian security force crackdown over the course of six violent nights, according to the Oslo-based NGO Iran Human Rights.
