On March 6, 2022, the President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari, on his way to the United Kingdom for treatment, ordered the removal of Buni.

Buni was plotting to disrupt the party’s national convention, scheduled for March 26. He did it before, and he wants to continue to do it until he is out of office as a governor and then becomes the chairman of the party.
