The governor of Kogi State and a presidential hopeful in 2023, Yahaya Bello, stormed out of a gathering of northern governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Monday evening.

The news of the walkout and the video was initially reported by The Punch News.

According to a source close to the situation, the governor of the state in Nigeria’s North Central region “walked out when the Northern governors asked him to step down for a Southern aspirant.”

“The APC’s Northern Governors have stated that the Presidential candidate must be from Nigeria’s southern region. Yahaya Bello was the only one who disagreed,” the source added.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman, has previously declared Senate President Ahmed Lawan a consensus presidential candidate.

According to Moye, an APC supporter on Twitter, Southerners have till midnight tonight to agree or lose the presidential primary.

On Saturday, the majority of northern governors decided to hand up power to the south, and at a meeting on Monday, they confirmed their position.

So they’re looking for Yahaya Bello to drop out of the contest.

Our prediction for the APC presidential candidate is either Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo, Rotimi Amaechi, or Dave Umahi.
