The Nigerian police force arrested a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari who was accused of being a Dr*g magnate. Four other persons involved in the crime were also arrested.
Mr Abba was arrested on Monday evening a few hours after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency declared him wanted over alleged ñarcotic connections.
According to the NDLEA, Kyari tried to recover the confiscated substance from the agency by bribing its officials with $61,000.
In a statement released by the NDLEA, Abba Kyari was said to be a member of a notorious global dr*g round linking Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria.
The disgraced officer was handcuffed and put behind bars on Monday.
Nigeria police spokesperson CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed his arrest to the media.
The former celebrated super cop was indicted in a case of fraud involving internet fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abass alias Hushpuppi, last year.
Recall MANDY NEWS reported that Kyari took bribes from Hushpuppi to frame an associate, Chibuzo in Nigeria.
The Northern Nigerian-born former officer received over N8 million from the disgraced fraudster.
