Abba Kyari, the Nigerian suspended deputy commissioner of police, who was accused of wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft, will be extradited to California to face charges.
Abubakar Malami, 54, the attorney general of Nigeria, signed an extradition release Wednesday in Abuja.
Abba was arrested on February 14 in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, just ten months after he was declared wanted by the United States by the NDLEA.
Abba, who was the Nigerian most celebrated police officer, was indicted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, in a fraud case against internet fraudster.
He claimed his only business with the notorious internet fraudster, Hushpuppi, was helping him sew Nigerian native dress.
Abba Kyari’s extradition to the United States
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on Wednesday, March 2nd, filed an application marked FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022.
The application was filed under the Extradition Act at the request of the United States of America to sentence the disgraced police officer, Abba Kyari, in North America.

The suspended deputy commissioner of police is still in the custody of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja.
