President Muhammadu Buhari says he stands with Isa Pantami over his 2004 speech where he expressed support for the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
The Buhari Presidency told reporters Thursday at the White House that its message is “stands behind Minister Pantami.”
Buhari displayed his very good relationship with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy he said that has apologized.
Mr Pantami recently in audio published by Peoples Gazette shows that Pantami was sympathetic to Boko Haram members when delivering sermons at several worship centres in the mid to late 2000s.
In another audio listened by Mandy News, he expressed support for the Taliban and al-Qaeda during a speech in 2004.
What did Buhari say about Isa Pantami?
He “stands behind Minister Pantami” in the wake of days of outrage about his past “extremist” comments which led to the call for his sack. The Presidency tags the call “cancel campaign” claims Pantami has apologized.
- In the 2000s, the Minister was a man in his twenties; next year he will be 50. Time has passed, and people and their opinions – often rightly – change.
