The EDSIEC will not be able to hold the Edo local government election in 2022, according to the court.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has barred EDSIEC from conducting a local government poll in Edo State on April 19, 2022.
The Court ruled that EDSIEC’s 15-day notice to hold the election was in violation of the new Electoral Act of 2022, as amended, which required 150 days notice.
