A video of American comedian Dave Chappelle being attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night emerged online this morning. However, before the attacker could do any harm, he met his Waterloo.
The attack happened near the end of Chappelle’s concert, according to BuzzFeed News writer Brianna Sacks, who attended the show.
In a video released by Brianna Sacks, a man on the right side of the stage rushes at Chappelle and attacks him. Following the event, the young man was badly bruised.
The attacker is seen being placed in an ambulance in another footage shot after the attack.
Stephanie Wash, an ABC correspondent, tweeted that Chris Rock, who had performed earlier in the evening, then came on stage and joked, “Was that Will Smith?”

Who is the attacker?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 23-year-old suspect, Isaiah Lee, was detained on accusations of assault with a deadly weapon. He’s being held on a $30,000 bail right now.

Chappelle is seen in camera footage shortly after the attack regaining his calm and joking, “It was a trans man.”

The man was armed with a replica gun “that can expel a knife blade” when discharged correctly, according to NBC News Los Angeles.
