Four Months After Launch, Davido’s 02 Arena Show Is Yet To Sell Out

Four months after the king of Afropop launch his 02 arena concerts for Saturday 5th of March 2022, Davido still struggling to sell the big stage of 20,000 capacity.

Davido is undoubtedly one of the biggest musicians in Africa, breaking records over and over again is not new to him. His first show at the o2 Arena on 27th January 2019 was single-handedly sold out.

He is slated for the second show in London after two years of the first sold out, however, seems to be encountering problems with ticket sales.

To be held on March 5 at 6:30 PM in the O2 Arena on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London, the event has been revealed since September 30 via Davido’s social media handles.

Nigerian netizens, however, have noticed that there are still several empty seats in the indoor arena of the O2 entertainment complex via TicketMaster, which has a capacity of 20,000.

Rivalry fans have been commenting on the hundreds of tickets still being sold.

“To sell out O2 is not easy shaa. Wizkid makes these things look so easy yet you guys try to insult him with every chance. See your GOAT still dey struggle to sell out O2 for months. Tuehhh” – Wisdom Alison

Considering that Wizkid sold out the same venue in less than 30 minutes, this has been a cause of concern for many people. Some believed that the lack of ticket sales has been due to the Chairman of DMW did not use resellers.

Rivalry fan said: “Davido is yet to sell out the first date, his dummy fans are asking for 2nd date. They want to load KGs heavier than what he can carry simply coz they want to copy WIZ. They don’t like that man”

Davido fan replied: “If Davido use resallers like your dog fave did for done sell like 5 dates , just want to singlehandedly do it like he did before in 2019”

One possible reason may have been Davido didn’t have an International hit song last year.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid are the only Nigerian artists to have taken up the big stage of 20,000 capacity and sold it out.

In June 2018, a lot of Nigerians doubt Davido that could never sell out the arena but the father of three didn’t accept their opinions and decided to prove them wrong.
