Google has deleted Adamu Garba’s crowwe, a social media app popular with Buhari supporters, from the Google Play Store, making it much harder for Android users to access the app after many negative reviews.

The removal of the app comes after the Nigerian government authoritatively put an unsettled ban on Twitter On 5 June 2021 that left millions opt for the virtual private network has reiterated calls for social media users to give it poor ratings.

Twitter permanently deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s genocidal tweet on Friday because it felt that Buhari’s most recent tweets were inciting genocide against the southeastern people of Nigeria, while Facebook also deleted the president tweet.

crowwe was launched in 2018 by Nigeria former presidential aspirant Adamu Garba, and it emerged earlier this year as a pro-Buhari alternative. “The small Crowwe has defeated the giant Twitter in Nigeria. We have WON!,” crowwe CEO Adamu Garba said in June. “Story of David and Goliath are-enacted in Nigeria.”

Screenshots of the crowwe app seen by MANDY NEWS show users gave it a poor rating, as well as calls to bring down the app for sharing malware.
