Hilda Effiong Bassey, known as Hilda Baci, has set a new Guinness World Record. She now holds the record for the longest cooking marathon.
The Guinness World Records website confirmed this news. Hilda, a Nigerian chef, cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes straight. She made over 100 pots of food during this time.
“Hilda Baci has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon. Her cooking time was 93 hours 11 minutes,” says the post on the Guinness website.
Hilda started cooking on Thursday, May 11, and didn’t stop until Monday, May 15. She had planned to cook for 100 hours, but she took a little extra time for a break. So, her total time was reduced by almost seven hours.
Even with this small mistake, Hilda was able to beat the old record. This record was 87 hours and 45 minutes, set by Lata Tondon from India in 2019.
MandyNews.com reports that Hilda’s achievement is a big deal in Nigeria. Many young chefs look up to her. Her love of cooking and her endurance have led her to this impressive accomplishment.
“I love to cook,” Hilda told MandyNews.com. “I never thought my love of cooking would lead to a world record. I’m very thankful.”
Hilda Baci has shown that when you work hard and love what you do, you can do amazing things.
