Nigerian afrobeat singer Davido suffered serious heartbreak after the death of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The Dami Duro singer’s 3-year-old son was confirmed dead after he drowned in a private swimming pool at the family’s residence in Lagos.

When did Davido’s son Ifeanyi die?
According to a source, David Adeleke’s son passed away on October 31, 2022, after drowning in a private pool at the family’s home in Lagos.
They learned that the little boy had been drowned in the water for an excessive amount of time. Despite having been transported to the hospital immediately, doctors were unable to revive him.
According to information gathered by Mandy News, Davido was traveling to the United States at the time the incident took place. Chioma was thought to have left Ifeanyi with a female domestic helper before traveling to Ibadan.
Ifeanyi was declared dead on the spot.
A family member confirmed his death to People Gazette, saying in a statement:
“The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,”
“By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late.”
Another musician, Dapo Oyebanjo, better known by his stage as D’banj, lost his son in June 2018 after the boy drowned in the family pool.
