Meaning behind Kwaku The Traveller

The song depicts the story of Kwaku the Traveller, a young guy who left home to pursue his aspirations of becoming a musician in another country. The path has been difficult and painful, but he refuses to give up because he is a hustler. He makes a lot of mistakes along the way, but he admits that everyone does, so he won’t be discouraged by them. The tourist, Kwaku, acknowledges that he is young and ignorant, and that society should not be too hard on him for his mistakes. He reminds his community that he would come home as a successful man one day, and that they should remember his name: a hustler called Kwaku the Traveller. They miss him, and he misses them. He’s depressed and hooked on beat, but the young hustler knows he can’t fail and must achieve his dreams at all costs.

Kwaku The Traveller Lyrics Meaning

“Kwaku Killa don’t lie when I say I did it, I did it, Big stacks big cash my way but still I fumbled it”

This line from Black Sherif’s first verse discussed how he had squandered the money he has earned in the past.

“Who never fuck up hands in the air, no hands? Still I can’t believe You know what I mean I was young what you expect from me?”

It’s no secret that Black Sherif – whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kweku Frimpong – has made money in the past and squandered it one day. In this line, he tells fans that he’s admitting his mistake, but that we’ve all made mistakes, a reference to John 8:7, “he who is without sin casts the first stone.”

Who never fuck up hands in the air, no hands?
Still I can’t believe (can’t believe)
You know what I mean (what I)
I was young what you expect from me?
It is what it is
But I keep going o
More like a rolling stone (rolling stoone)
Cause I have no stopping time
Can’t nobody stop a man
