A now trending video captured the moment when Lamidi Apapa, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, was forcibly removed from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal court room by the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday.

The event has stirred up considerable controversy and ignited discussions on various social media platforms.

“The incident has caused quite the stir in the political landscape, putting into question the conduct and decorum of our leaders within judicial premises,” noted a political analyst.

The video, captured by multiple witnesses, shows Apapa being jeered at by hundreds of Labour Party supporters who had gathered at the court premises.

They were there to witness the ongoing presidential election petition by Mr Peter Obi and the Labour Party against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The petition is based on the premise of alleged irregularities during the recently concluded presidential election.

“In a democracy, every voice counts, and the people have a right to question the fairness of the electoral process,” said a supporter of the Labour Party present at the scene.

According to circulating reports, Mr Apapa had arrived with his team, intending to undermine Mr Peter Obi’s mandate.

MandyNews obtained the first video exclusively from the court. It showed Apapa and his four supporters initially fighting for a seat inside the court before they were evicted.

“Despite being ousted, the party leaders defiantly stayed put within the premises, causing further unrest,” said a witness at the scene.

A subsequent video showed them sitting outside the court premises, before attempting to re-enter the courtroom. This led to law enforcement officials whisking them away due to the noise and anger from Labour Party supporters.
