The Government of Lagos State led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has withdrawn charges against a Nigerian singer Naira Marley, and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Babatunde Gbadamosi, Punch News reported.
The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba charged Naira Marley, Gbadamosi and his wife for attending a crowded birthday party in violation of the government’s social distancing directive to curb the spread of coronavirus.
According to the state government, they withdrew the charges on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to the country’s President Muhammadu Buhari, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
If you can recall Mandy News reported that hundreds of Naira Marley fans storm the court premises, could this be the reason?
