Nigerian singer and songwriter Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been taken into police custody for questioning in connection to the death of fellow musician Mohbad.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Naira Marley was detained by the police for interrogation and other investigation activities.
The Mohbad Case
Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioulwa Aloba, was a former signee of Marlian Records, a record label owned by Naira Marley. He died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27 in Lagos State. Following his death, there have been allegations of foul play, and the police have been investigating the case.

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Mohbad, and Naira Marley’s arrest is part of the ongoing investigation. The police have not released any official statement regarding the case, but sources say that Naira Marley is being held for questioning and other investigation activities.
