Nigerian Rappers, Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile are reportedly yet to be released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC). Contrary to rumors that they have been released, the pair and three others are still being detained and are currently undergoing intense grilling for their connection to advance fee fraud popularly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’.
In a press release launched yesterday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal workplace, arrested the 2 artists, Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (aka Zlatan), in reference to an alleged case of web fraud and cash laundering. Intelligence report had additionally linked them to cybercrime offenses.
They have been arrested together with: Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses, and Abubakar Musa. On the level of arrest, the Fee discovered and recovered a variety of objects, together with laptops, from the suspects. They’ve thus far reportedly volunteered helpful details about their involvement within the alleged prison actions, whilst investigations proceed.
