In the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki’s opinion, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that has a chance of winning the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
The 65-year-old politician who once lauded and adored the Obidients movement has now written them off.
According to Obaseki, the ‘Obidients’ movement will fizzle out, and the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will be defeated.
The now-trending statement was made by Obaseki on Monday during his speech at the state’s launch of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign council.
The governor previously stated that Obi’s fans, sometimes known as “Obidients,” are highly wonderful and do not want to look at the faces of APC or PDP. This was before the PDP campaign officially started.
There used to be a video of him speaking in front of Peter Obi about the People Democratic Party’s (PDP) injustice in giving the North’s presidential ticket.
As soon as the campaign got underway, Mr. Obaseki—who is friendly with the former governor of Anambra State—turned against what he had said.
In the statement, Obaseki continued to show his support for Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, saying that he has what it takes to put Nigeria back on the path of a good government.
