ABUJA, Nigeria (MandyNews) –Police arrested the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, after multiple reports said he hit his wife in the chest, which led to her death.
The first report initially said Osinachi Nwachukwu died as a result of cancer of the throat.
According to a friend and fellow church member who revealed the true cause of her death, the 42-year-old died as a result of her husband’s regular beatings and maltreatment.
Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, allegedly beat her up and hit her in the chest, according to the report shared with the public by relatives and friends.
Her husband reportedly rushed her to an Abuja hospital, where she remained for five days before succumbing to her sickness.
What the police are saying: Men of the Nigerian police in Lugbe Division on Sunday arrested Mr. Nwachukwu and said an investigation had commenced into the singer’s death.
The police reported that Peter Nwachukwu was arrested for suspected homicide because the brother of his late wife reported the case to the police.
