President Buhari Announces Resignation
President Buhari resignation would be the best path to Nigeria healing.
Africa’s most populous nation President Muhammadu Buhari announced today that he will resign his position effectively on April 5, 2021. Buhari served as the 15th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking today from the Nigerian House in London, Buhari said he was stepping down from his position so peace and unity can reign in the country.
This decision means that Buhari was President for 2,134 days, making him the first Nigerian president to resign from office.
When reporters asked him who would take over as President of the country, Buhari said his last meeting with Lawan, Gbajabiamila in the closed-door was to change the Constitution so that his son (Yusuf Buhari) would now be given the title of Nigeria president. He said that he learned the new act in the United Kingdom where the next King can say “keep it in the family.”
At this stage no official reason has been given for the sudden resignation, anyway, a source in the presidency says it might have something to do with his failure on:
- Fighting corruption
- Fighting Boko haram & insecurity across the country
- Failure revive Nigeria’s economy, he enforced recession instead
- Failure to provide jobs
- Failure to provide 10,000MW that he promised
Another source in the presidency told us the President has mentioned he’s tired and confused because of his loss of memory, language, problem-solving and thinking abilities. On top of this, he liked to stay with his doctor in London.
At the time of this report, Yusuf who had a bike accident in 2016, has moved into the presidential villa with his soon to be wife Zahra Nasir Bayero, funny enough Osinbajo will be under him.
