Some thugs were caught on video threatening voters at a polling unit in Fehintola Giwa Street Aguda, Surulere, Lagos state during the ongoing presidential election in the state.
In the video, the thugs, which appears to be working for the All Progressives Congress (APC), can be heard warning voters not to vote for any other political party except the APC.
The thug can be heard saying, “This is APC territory, if you no wan vote for APC go your house. If you vote PDP or any other party, you are on your own. This is APC.”
The video has sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many condemning the thug’s actions and calling for the authorities to take action.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions and concerns of violence during elections in Nigeria. In recent years, elections in the country have been marred by incidents of violence, vote-buying, and other forms of electoral malpractice.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) had earlier assured voters of a peaceful and transparent election in the state. The commission had also announced that it had put in place measures to ensure the safety of voters and election officials.
However, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of voters and the credibility of the election. Nigerians have taken to social media to express their concerns, with many calling for the authorities to ensure that the election is free and fair.
