A woman who has not been named but is living with HIV has spoken out about how she spreads the disease by mixing her infected blood with the zobo drink she sells for the public.
She made the disturbing confession on Wednesday evening when she phoned into MarketRunz on Wazobia FM to reveal her wicked activities.
The radio personalities in the now-viral social media video requested listeners, especially traders, to call in and confess wrongdoings they may have committed in the marketplace that consumers are unaware of but are also not proud of.
The woman uttered these words in pidgin English:
“I went to the hospital six months ago and I was told I had HIV.I don’t have money for treatment so I decided that I would not die alone. I started mixing my blood with the zobo I make to sell and I sell to many people.”
“I extract my blood with a syringe and mix it in the zobo. I was a nurse before but when I was confirmed HIV positive, I had to stop.
Several people, including doctors, have responded on various social media platforms to voice their disgust.
In one of the numerous comments spotted by Mandy News, a doctor asserts that the pH of the Zobo drink will denature the virus, meaning that it will have no effect on the consumers.
“Well, if the aim was to transmit the virus, it was just a waste of time. The pH of the zobo drink would denature the virus. Not to talk about the acidic pH of the stomach of the consumer,” he said.
Even though the confession might be one of these made-up stories to attract more listeners and supporters to the platform, no matter what, always pay attention to what you put in your mouth.
