A Nigerian broadcaster is accused of sharing the Chrisland School girl’s video on social media.

MandyNews has learnt that the investigation began in April when the video of a 10-year-old girl started circulating among microblogging app Twitter users.

The suspect, 40-year-old Uche Igwe, was brought to the magistrate court in Lagos state on Monday for sharing the Chrisland School girl video on his official Twitter handle.

The broadcaster was charged with two counts of cyber-stalking and breach of peace in court.

Mr. Augustine Nwabuisi, a prosecutor with the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, claimed Mr. Igwe posted the footage of the 10-year-old girl pupil in the viral news that occurred in Dubai on Twitter deliberately.

He went on to say that the accused used his own Twitter handle, @uchedark, to post the video online for public access without the permission of the student’s parents or the school.

The officer also informed the court that the defendant committed the crimes on April 18 while using the Twitter platform.

Igwe, on the other hand, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The offender was granted bail in the sum of N10 million with three sureties in the same amount by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo.

She set a date for the case to be heard on June 13th.

Please stop sharing indecent videos online. The government is watching and, besides that, let’s keep the internet safe for children.
