BLOGGER ARRESTED OVER FAKE NEWS

A Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State granted one million naira bail to blogger after being arrest on Wednesday, February 26, over ‘fake news’ tweet.

A Port Harcourt blogger known as TheRealDayne had tweeted in February that a building on Twitter claiming it is the Port Harcourt office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

“Justice M.L. Abubakar of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on March 12, 2020, admitted Chukwuebuka Washington Dikeocha, the blogger behind “Fake EFCC” cell tweet to bail in the sum of N1million.
Dikeocha was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Port Harcourt’s zonal office on March 10, 2020, on a two-count charge, to which he pleaded “not guilty”,” EFCC tweeted.
